
A fast start propelled Furman to a road win over a ranked opponent over the weekend, as they remain unbeaten in conference play. The Paladins jumped out to an early 13-0 1st quarter lead in their 29-1 win over #14 Western Carolina in Cullowhee, Saturday. Furman QB Tyler Huff capped two early scoring drives with TD passes.
Western scored early in the 2nd to make it 13-7. The two teams traded touchdowns to make it 20-14 Furman at the half.
The Paladin defense allowed just three points and had two interceptions after the break. Furman was plus two in turnover margin and owned the ground game, running for over 300 yards on the day. RB Dominic Roberto led that charge with over 150 yards and a rushing TD on 31 carries.
