A former Clemson and NFL standout is facing a list of charges after a traffic stop in the Charlotte area. Bashaud Breeland was booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail around 2AM Tuesday morning.
He's charged with possession of a stolen car, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and multiple weapons violations.
Police say the G550 Mercedes that Breeland was driving which is valued at well over a hundred grand had been reported stolen in Florida. Officers say a total of 8 guns were found in the car.
Breeland is a native of South Carolina's Low Country. He has played Defensive Back for multiple NFL teams since being drafted in 2014. He won a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Even before the arrest, Breeland was still a free agent with the season set to start next month.
