With their road win Wednesday night Furman Basketball extended their winning streak and they now find themselves in position to a challenge for the conference championship. Furman has now won 7 straight SoCon games after their 94-63 blowout win over VMI.
The Paladins scored 54 1st half points and led by more than 30 at the break. It was a balanced attack, as Furman had 5 players in double figures. Alex Williams led the way with 18 points and 8 boards.
Furman has now reached the 20 win mark on the season. It's the 5th time in the last 6 seasons under Coach Bob Richey that the program has won 20 games or more.
They are currently in a three way tie for 1st place with UNCG and Samford at 11-2 in the SoCon. The Paladins are back in action Saturday hosting Western Carolina at Timmons Arena for a 2 PM tip off. You can hear every Furman game, all season long on The Fan Upstate.
