
Furman Basketball ended the pre-Christmas portion of their schedule with a win over a local opponent Tuesday. The Paladins downed Presbyterian College 76-61 at Timmons Arena.
PC made the roundtrip of about a 100 miles from Clinton to Greenville to take on a Furman squad who is unbeaten at home this season. Furman set the tone with defense allowing just 27 1st half points and led by 11 at the break.
PC shot just 4 of 21 from three-point range, Furman wasn't any better, going 5 of 27. The Paladins were however plus two in turnover margin and plus on the offensive glass.
JP Pegues led Furman with a game high 21 points, Garrett Hien had a double-double of 19 points and 11 boards. Marquiss Barnett led Presbyterian with 14.
Furman is now 6-6 on the season and 5-0 at Timmons Arena. They are on Holiday Break until Dec. 30th when they host another Upstate foe in Anderson University.
