
Furman was trounced Saturday, marking their 2nd straight blowout loss at home. Western Carolina put up more than 50 points and thumped Furman 52-20.
The Catamounts led 7-0 after the 1st quarter. Western then scored again to go up 14-0 in the 2nd. Furman got on the board with a kickoff return TD by Colton Hinton. Western added a Field Goal in the closing seconds of the half and took a 17-6 lead into the break.
Western Carolina then scored 35 2nd half points and cruised to a 52-20 win. The Catamounts had over 30 1st downs and racked up over 800 total yards.
WCU QB Cole Gonzales went 35 of 55 passing for 620 yards and 5 TD's.
Furman is now 2-5 on the season and 1-2 in SoCon play. They are back in action hosting VMI, November 2nd.
