A South Carolina Football player is no longer with the team after being arrested on drug charges earlier this week.

As we previously reported, 22 year old Davonte Miles was arrested in Columbia Tuesday and is charged with intent to distribute marijuana.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department says 20 small bags of marijuana were found inside his vehicle. Miles appeared in 11 games for the Gamecocks this past season as a back up Defensive Lineman.

WIS TV in Columbia is reporting that the University's Athletic Department has confirmed that Miles is no longer part of the football program
