A slow start and cold outside shooting was to much for South Carolina to overcome on Tuesday night. The Gamecocks fell 78-64 to Mississippi State at "The Hump". The homestanding Bulldogs got out to as good a start as Head Coach Ben Howland could've asked for. They would come out hot and put up 45 1st half points. MSU carried a 45-23 lead into the break.

South Carolina shot 44% from the field in the game and just 28% from three point range. Mississippi State hit over 50% of their shots from the field, 54% to be exact. The Bulldogs also connected on 44% of their attempts from deep. MSU had 15 assists on 27 made field goals in the game.

Four Bulldogs were in double figures, Iverson Molinar had a game high 20 points to lead the way. Forward Garrison Brooks was a rebound shy of a double-double with 18 points and 9 boards. "Rocket" Watts added 11 and D.J. Jeffries added 10.

South Carolina had just two players in double digits. James Reese has stepped up his output in SEC play and again led the Gamecocks in scoring with a team high 15, Devin Carter added 10. The Gamecocks are back in action at home hosting #22 Tennessee on Saturday for a 1 PM tip off.
