T.L. Hanna moved to 7-0 on the season after dropping Mauldin 43-22 on Friday night. The homestanding Yellow Jackets scored on the 1st play from scrimmage when RB Kamren Johnson scampered 62 yards to pay dirt. Hanna was in control of the game all night, but Mauldin competed all four quarters and never went away.

The Jackets went up 14-0 when Carson Bacheller scored on a 17 yard run. That capped an 8 play 78 yard drive for Hanna. Mauldin got on the board when Jaedyn Lukus scored on a 1 yard TD run to cap an 80 yard drive by the Mavericks. Lukus is a Clemson commit at Corner and plays both ways, he was used at RB and WR on offense Friday. Johnson would get his 2nd rushing TD later in the 1st half, this one coming from 6 yards out. Hanna led 21-6, when future UNC Tarheel "Deuce" Caldwell scored for Mauldin. The Mavs failed on the 2 point try and the game was 21-12 at the half.

Hanna would score first after the break, the Jackets got the 3rd TD run of the night from Johnson and led 29-12. Mauldin answered with a FG after their drive stalled deep in Hanna territory that made the game 29-15. Hanna would pretty much seal it when QB Kenny Fretwell scored on a keeper to put them up 36-15. Each team would tack on a TD in the 4th, but it was too little to late.

Mauldin's "Deuce" Caldwell left the game with about 6 minutes left in the 4th. He came out with what looked to be a lower leg injury, he was on the sidelines for the rest of the game with an ice pack on his knee. For Caldwell and Mauldin's sake, let's hope the injury is nothing serious.

Mauldin falls to 4-3 with the loss , The Mavs have a big game next week. Mauldin has two region losses they take on a Woodmont team that is 4-2 on the year. Mauldin needs that game for possible playoff positioning. Hanna now continues to roll on, they will be on the road the final two regular season games. The Jackets are at J.L. Mann next week and then finish the regular season in a game that could decide the region title race at Hillcrest.
