
History was made this weekend in the Electric City as Anderson University's Football program took the field for the 1st time ever. Saturday, was a day of firsts for Trojan Football, as they dismantled St. Andrews 51-14 in the program's inaugural game.
The Trojans scored on their first possession when Transfer TE Wes Beckett found pay dirt. They would get a TD run from Monzelle Campbell to lead 14-0 after the 1st. The Trojans then reeled off 28 more unanswered points in the 2nd quarter and led 42-0 at the break.
Anderson added a Field Goal early in the 3rd to lead 45-0. St. Andrews got on the board with a long TD run to make it 45-8 after the 3rd. Another Ross Burnette Field Goal put Anderson up 48-8.
St. Andrews then scored on a long TD pass to make it 48-14. Burnette then got his 3rd Field Goal of the day to make it 51-14. Anderson is now 1-0 in their inaugural season. They'll look to move to 2-0 Saturday when they host LaGrange for a 6PM kickoff from the brand new Younts Stadium.
