
After their win in the NCAA Tournament Thursday night Clemson Basketball has now reached heights the program has not seen in over 4 decades.
The Tigers won in the Round of 16 for just the 2nd time ever in program history clipping 2 seed Arizona, 77-72. Clemson led by as many as 13 in the 1st half and 39-31 at the break
Arizona rallied in the 2nd half and took their 1st lead of the night at 45-43 with 15 minutes left. After the game went back and forth, Clemson reclaimed the lead. Arizona cut it to three at 70-67 with 1:31 left to play.
Chase Hunter then showed poise and leadership making big plays down the stretch. He had an assist to PJ Hall for a bucket to put Clemson up 72-67. The Wildcats got a with 49 seconds left to make it 72-70. Hunter then answered with a three point play the "old school" way.
Little brother Dillon Hunter got a bucket with 11 seconds left to seal the win at 77-72. Clemson advances to the Elite 8 for just the 2nd time in program history and the 1st time since 1980
The Tigers will face Alabama on Saturday for the program's first ever berth in the Final Four. It's a rematch of the regular season meeting which Clemson won 85-77 back in November.
