Progress continues to be made on the plans for a brand new baseball stadium being built in the Upstate. The City Of Spartanburg's Design Review Board approved initial designs on the ballpark being developed by The Johnson Group. Overland Architecture submitted design illustrations.

The plan shows the stadium as the centerpiece of a larger downtown development project, which future buildings that are part of that will also have to be reviewed by the board.

The plan has reached its 1st milestone and will continue on. The stadium plans feature a 7,000 square foot indoor event space, a large outdoor event space, a row of suites on the 3rd base side and a kids zone.

The publicly funded stadium is set to serve as the future home for a minor league affiliate of the World Series Champion Texas Rangers and s expected to open in the spring of 2025.
