Is Tom Brady becoming, gulp, likeable?

No, we aren't rooting for him...ever!

Is Tom Brady beginning to come off as, almost…likeable?

We know, it makes our stomach’s queasy too, but hear us out.

Last week, Brady was seen talking to Drew Brees and his wife after the Bucs beat the Saints to advance to the NFL Championship Game. This comes with Brees expected to officially retire soon.

Brady also took time to launch a touchdown pass to one of Brees’ sons in the end zone. Heartwarming stuff right?

Then after beating the Packers to clinch his 10th….yes 10th trip to the Super Bowl, Brady politely asks a security guard at Lambeau Field if he can say hi to his son.

The two embrace, with each telling the other one how much they love each other. Doesn’t get any better than that right?

Okay, while that might be all well and good, we still can’t root for the guy, never gonna happen.

Brady and his former team the New England Patriots were fined $1 million back in 2015 for their role in Deflategate. The NFL accused Brady and the Pats or using slightly deflated footballs while playing the Indianapolis Colts during the AFC Championship game. In the wet conditions, the deflated balls made it easier to throw and catch. Brady was given a four-game suspension for his involvement in the incident but never admitted any guilt.

Another incident neither he nor the Patriots admitted guilt in is Spygate. An investigation by the NFL found that the Pats were illegally videotaping play-call signals of other teams, including the Steelers in the AFC Championship Game in 2001. A game Pittsburgh lost 24-17.

Okay, so whether or not he’ll admit it, Tom Brady is a cheater, and we’re never going to root for the guy, but the actions of the past few weeks are, well heartwarming.

The Fan Morning Show discussed the topic Monday morning.

Chris Mack says he has passed on his distaste for Tom Brady on to his kids and he’s “kind of proud of the fact that if my kids have latched on to nothing else about being a Pittsburgh sports fan it’s that you hate that dirty, lying, stinking, rotten Tom Brady.”

“It’s heartwarming if it’s just about anybody else but that guy,” added Mack.

“If you just had those moments and you didn’t’ have that past, you could be somebody that captured America, you could be Captain America,” said Colin Dunlap.

So may it’s the fact Brady is now in the NFL and not with rival of the Steelers. Maybe it is seeing the more human and humble side of him the past few weeks, but our deep despising of Tom Brady is softening…maybe a little bit? Probably not.
