"Late Season Swoon" Clemson drops 4th game in last 5

Clemson Basketball has hit a late season swoon, they've now dropped four of their last five games. The Tigers fell on the road Saturday, 83-73 to a Louisville squad that had won just three games all season, coming in.

Clemson struggled to make shot and get stops on the defensive end. The Tigers shot 43% overall, 17 % from three point range, and 73% from the free throw line. Louisville shot 51% from the floor, 31% from deep and 93% from the foul line.


Louisville led 39-36 at the halftime break. The Cardinals scored 44 in the 2nd half. Clemson was plus 9 in the turnover margin and plus two on the offensive glass. However, that wasn't enough to overcome their struggles shooting and to get stops.

The Cards had three in double figures, El Ellis had a team high 28 to lead the way. JJ Traynor added 16 and Mike James added a baker's dozen. Former Dorman star PJ Hall had a team high 28 for Clemson. Seneca alum Brevin Galloway added 16, Chase Hunter had 15 and Hunter Tyson chipped in 12.Louisville's bench outscored Clemson's reserves 14-0 on the night.

Clemson is now 19-8 overall and 11-5 in the ACC. That puts them in 4th place and two games back of league leading Virginia. Clemson has 4 regular season games. They have Syracuse at home Wednesday night at 7 PM. Clemson then travels to NC State and Virginia, before their regular season finale at Littlejohn March 4th against Notre Dame.
