The Atlanta Falcons got their first win of the season on Sunday against the Giants. However, the offense was only able to put up 17 points, winning it on a Younghoe Koo last-second field goal.
The Falcons decided to look past a quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft, and instead took TE Kyle Pitts at No. 4 overall.

Michael Lombardi, former NFL GM and Audacy NFL Insider, joined The Midday Show. He said the Falcons may have been better off drafting their next man under center because he's seeing a decline in veteran QB Matt Ryan.
"They thought Matt Ryan had two good years left in him, and just watching Matt Ryan play in that game, it sure as hell didn't look like he's got two good years left in him," Lombardi said.
"When I watch that Falcons team and I watch Matt, I worry that Matt, after three weeks of the season, doesn't look like the Matt Ryan of old," Lombardi continued. "He had guys open on the tape and he just didn't throw it. And sometimes when guys don't throw it--when quarterbacks just won't let it go and you see the guy open--is they're telling you they don't trust their arm to get the ball in there. Now, is that what Matt Ryan is telling us? I don't know.
"Between him, Big Ben, and Carson Wentz, those three guys, for as great as they've played at times in the National Football League, they have not looked good after three weeks."

Randy asked a follow-up question about whether it's Matt Ryan not trusting his arm or his protection. Could it be one, or both?
"I think he doesn't trust anything in the offense," Lombardi said. "Here's a guy that's used to--let's face it, whether it's been Dirk Koetter or whomever was there, it's been his offense for awhile. And now it's Arthur Smith's offense, and I don't get the sense that he trusts it or he trusts his protection or trusts his receivers.
"What tells you a quarterback is declining? What's the No. 1 indicator a quarterback's declining? Yards per attempt. When you're averaging under 7 yards per attempt, you're not going to beat any football team in the National Football League."
