
It was an inspired performance for Clemson Football as they knocked 15th ranked Notre Dame at Death Valley, Saturday.
A career day for Tiger Running Back Phil Mafah paced the offense with 36 carries, 186 yards and two TD's. The Clemson defense limited Notre Dame to just 13 1st downs and forced three turnovers on the day. LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr. had a 28 yard pick 6 in the 3rd quarter of Clemson's 31-23 win over the Irish.
Clemson led 24-6 late in the 3rd quarter, Notre Dame outscored them 17-7 from the 2 minute mark of the third quarter on. Notre Dame scored with 6:05 left to vut the lead to 31-23. Clemson then forced the Irish to punt 4 times and got a late interception to seal the win.
Clemson is now 5-4 and 4-1 at home this season. They host Georgia Tech this Saturday for a noon kickoff.
