DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Should Dak Prescott bolt the Dallas Cowboys in free agency? That's what former defensive end Marcus Spears thinks.

"Let me drop this little mini-bomb on NFL Live Wednesday, Dak Prescott should want out of Dallas," Spears said.

As for where Prescott should go? Spears said the San Francisco 49ers would be a nice landing spot for him.

"(There's) a team on the west coast with Kyle Shanahan and a GM named John Lynch that would love to have Dak Prescott running that offense."

To show how silly Spears' idea was, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter jumped in and said, "that's the very first time I've heard Dak Prescott connected to the 49ers."

Dallas has every reason to lock Prescott up to a long-term extension this offseason with the way their season has gone since he went down with a season-ending ankle injury.

Should the Cowboys not agree to an extension with Prescott this offseason, they very likely will place the franchise tag on him, once again.

So ... Spears can keep dreaming.
