
A 2nd half surge from the homestanding Hurricanes was too much for Clemson Basketball to overcome, Wednesday night. The 16th ranked Tigers fell 95-82 at Miami after leading 41-35 at halftime.
A 15-2 Miami run early in the 2nd half allowed them to take control. That was part of a 60-41 2nd half advantage for the Hurricanes. Miami shot 53% from the floor and 46% from three-point range. Clemson connected on 46% of their attempts overall and 37% from deep.
Both teams had all 5 starters in double figures. Nijel Pack led Miami with a game high 25, FSU transfer Matt Cleveland added 23.
Syracuse transfer Joseph Girard led Clemson with 18, Upstate native PJ Hall added 17. Ian Schiefflien had a double-double of 11 points and 11 boards.
Clemson is now 11-2 on the season and 1-1 in ACC play. They are back in action Saturday when they host 8th ranked North Carolina for a noon tipoff.
