Three college baseball regionals were held around the state this weekend with Clemson, Columbia and Conway serving as host sites. One in-state program has advanced thus far, one fell short and the fate of the other will be decided tonight.
Clemson concluded their season losing to Charlotte 3-2 on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers led 2-1 after six innings, but gave up two runs in the 7th and couldn't muster any offense. That loss came just a day after the Tiger bullpen blew another lead in their 6-5 loss in 14 innings to Tennessee, who won the regional.
South Carolina won their regional going unbeaten in three games and downing 2 seed Campbell 16-7, Sunday to advance. The Gamecocks move to the Super Regionals, they'll get the winner of the Gainesville Regional. Florida takes on Texas Tech, Monday night with the winner advancing. If Florida, wins the Gamecocks will travel there, if Texas Tech wins the Gamecocks would host the Super Regionals.
Down in Conway, Coastal Carolina who lost their regional opener has battled back and will take on Duke, Monday night. The winner of that game, will head to Charlottesville to take on Virginia in this weekend's Super Regionals.
