Georgia Bulldogs beat writer for UGASports.com, Radi Nabulsi, joined the Midday Show to discuss what happened when it came to finding a replacement team for Saturday's final regular season game.
The Bulldogs game against Vanderbilt was declared a no-contest after it was called off for the second time. The Commodores said they couldn't fullfill the SEC's minimum roster requirements (which is interesting given that Vandy held its Senior Day with 49 scholarship players last weekend).
Since the cancellation, Georgia has been aggressive into trying to find a replacement to play on what would've been Senior Day, and their final home game of the season.
"I was told if it wasn't done by yesterday, it's not going to happen," Radi told Andy and Randy. He said the team did a walk-through yesterday but no real conditioning or prepping for an opponent.
And now, it's official: Georgia will not play this weekend.
Colorado State was mentioned as one of the teams Georgia was reportedly seeking to play this weekend. The Bulldogs, of course, would've had to seek permission from the SEC if they were to play an out-of-conference team.
"Maybe the SEC decides to change its rules and let Georgia play a game, especially when you've been canceled on twice by the same school and you've only had three home games...these seniors deserve a day."
From all indications, the Colorado State match-up was ramping up and then all of a sudden, it wasn't.
"I don't know what happened at that point but apparently somebody either said no or they figured out it wouldn't work but something just happened and everybody went home."
