Clemson has hired a new Women's Basketball Coach. Athletic Director Graham Neff announced the hire of Coach Shawn Poppie, on Tuesday.
Poppie had an outstanding run in two seasons as the Head Coach at Chattanooga. While in the "Scenic City" Poppie went 48-18 and led the program to back-to-back SoCon Titles.
Prior to that Poppie was an Assistant Coach at Virginia Tech and Furman. Poppie started his coaching career at Limestone College in Gaffney, after he was an All-Conference player for the Saints before graduating in 2007.
He takes over for Amanda Butler who was fired after going 12-19 this season and 81-106 in 6 seasons at Clemson.
