We are just two games into the season, but so far Furman is delivering on the high expectations coming in. Furman had no trouble handling a Belmont team that was coming off a win over Georgia State. The Paladins cruised past the Bruins 99-76 at Timmons Arena, Friday night.

Furman's fast start paced the Paladins, as they scored 46 1st half points and led by 15 at the break. Furman held Belmont to just 3 of 21 shooting from three point range on the night.

Preseason All SoCon selection JP Pegues led Furman with a game high 23 points, he also had 9 boards and 9 assists, just one shy in each category of a triple-double. Fellow all conference projection Marcus Foster added 16 for the Paladins.

Furman is now 2-0 on the season, they are back in action Thursday night hosting Liberty for a 7 PM tip off at Timmons Arena. Hear all the action on The Fan Upstate.
