The Carolina Panthers have now opened the season with two straight losses in decisive fashion. In a game heard on Classic Rock 101.1 FM, the Panthers lost 26-3 at home Sunday to the L.A. Chargers.
The Panthers found themselves trailing 6-0 after the 1st quarter. The Chargers would score on two TD drives in the final five minutes of the 1st half. That gave them a 20-0 lead at the break.
Carolina mustered their only points of the game on a 3rd Quarter Field Goal. The Charges would add a pair of Field Goals of their own to make the final 26-3.
Struggling is not a strong enough word to describe Carolina's offense through the 1st two games. Against the Chargers, they managed just 7 1st downs and 160 total yards.
QB Bryce Young has not been able to translate his college success to the NFL game. He threw for just 84 yards and an interception, Sunday. He was relatively accurate but most of his completions were on short dump offs and check downs.
The Panthers are back in action this Sunday. They travel to take on the Las Vegas Raiders for a 4PM kickoff. The Panthers play all season long on Classic Rock 101.1 FM.
