The Carolina Panthers have now announced the hiring of their new coach. Rob Jones reports. Former NFL QB and Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Frank Reich has been named the Panthers new leader. Reich led Indianapolis to multiple postseason appearances and had a 1-2 record in the playoffs.
He was dismissed during this past season, despite compiling a 40-33-1 record in four plus seasons with Indy. Prior to his time with the Colts, Reich served as Offensive Coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles and helped them win Super Bowl LII. He also served as an Assistant Coach with the Arizona Cardinals and San Diego Chargers.
The decision by the Panthers means they decided to pass on Steve Wilks. He served as Interim Head Coach in Carolina after Matt Rhule was fired during the season. The Panthers were 6-6 with Wilks at the helm after starting the season 1-4.
