When Mr. October speaks, people listen – and the Yankees must hope Gary Sanchez is listening, or reading as it were, to what Reggie Jackson had to say on Monday.

Moose & Maggie discussed it, and it was covered on WFAN.com how Sanchez, in an interview with ESPN’s Marly Rivera, claims the Yankees never explained why he was benched in the postseason. And, even Brian Cashman has said at times this offseason, albeit in roundabout ways, that Sanchez is not guaranteed to be the Yankees’ full-time starting catcher in 2021.

On Monday, Jackson, a long-time Yankees special advisor/instructor and someone who is no stranger to Bronx controversy, took to Twitter with the following message for Sanchez:

He also then Tweeted the same message in Spanish, reaffirming the belief he’s had in Sanchez for over a decade.

Sanchez hit just .147 in 2020, and seemed to regress in some aspects of his defense despite adapting a new catching style intended to help his framing issues. His “backup,” Kyle Higashioka, hit .250 in limited action and took over as the main starter in the postseason.
