Saints assistant Aaron Glenn to become Lions' defensive coordinator, report says

Saints secondary coach Aaron Glenn is expected to join tight ends coach Dan Campbell in Detroit as he's set to become the Lions' defensive coordinator, according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Campbell is reportedly expected to be named the Lions head coach this week and is making Glenn a part of his staff. He'll be tasked with helping the Lions, who allowed a league-high 6.3 yards per play, improve.

Glenn just completed his fifth season with the New Orleans Saints. He helped the guide the Saints to collect a league-high 18 interceptions in 2020.

A former first-round pick out of Texas A&M, Glenn played 16 seasons in the NFL spending time with the Jets, Texans, Cowboys, Jaguars and Saints. He'd received some interest as a head coach interviewing with New York earlier this month.

Glenn isn't the only member of the Saints organization making a move. The Atlanta Falcons announced Saints VP/ director of pro personnel Terry Fontenot would be their next GM Tuesday morning.
