The University of South Carolina has named their new head baseball coach and they didn't even have to leave the state to get him.
The Gamecock Athletic Department has announced that Kevin Schnall has been hired to lead their baseball program. Schnall comes to Columbia after serving as Head Baseball Coach at Coastal Carolina. Schnall led Coastal to a 2nd place finish at the College World Series, last year.
Prior to becoming the Head Coach in Conway, Schnall spent nearly 20 years with the program. Schnall replaces Paul Manieri who had a losing record last year and struggled this season, before parting ways with the program.
The University will officially introduce Schnall as their Head Coach at an event at Founders Park, Friday night.
