(SportsRadio 610) -- Texans running back Duke Johnson will be evaluated Friday, but if he does not practice, he’s likely to miss Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Johnson is battling a neck injury, which held him from practice Thursday and limited him Wednesday.
Texans interim head coach Romeo Crennel said Johnson is day-to-day.
“If he doesn’t practice (Friday), then that’s a sign about the game, as far as we’re concerned,” Crennel said. “So, we’ll see what happens when we get out there on the field and see if he can do anything or not.”
The Texans are getting back David Johnson, who missed last Sunday’s game against the Bears on the reserve-COVID-19 list as a high-risk close contact. Johnson told reporters Thursday a family member had tested positive.
Backup running back C.J. Prosise (ankle) also did not participate in Thursday’s practice and was limited Wednesday.
The Texans could once again be short-handed at one of their weakest positions Sunday, though neither player has been ruled out.
Houston ranks last in rush DVOA, signaling the least efficient run game in the NFL.
