HOUSTON (SportsRadio610) -- Stop if you've heard this one before.
The Houston Texans have an opening at general manager and would like to interview New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio.
No, this is not a piece from 2019, when the Texans were accused of tampering when they courted Caserio for the position shortly after firing Brian Gaine. Caserio worked closely with Texans interim general manager and president of football operations Jack Easterby.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Texans are once again requesting to interview Caserio. The Patriots dropped tampering charges against the Texans nearly two years ago when they ended their pursuit of Caserio, but the interest is clearly still there.
Caserio joined the Patriots in 2001 as a personnel assistant, was an offensive coaching assistant in 2002, then moved to the scouting department in 2003. He was the team's director of pro personnel from 2004 to 2006 before becoming the wide receivers coach in 2007, when O'Brien arrived as an offensive assistant.
Caserio returned to the personnel department in 2008, where he's served ever since.
