Three high school football programs brought state gold back to the Upstate after winning this weekend. It was the "usual suspects" like Christ Church and Daniel capturing State Titles in 1A and 3A and newcomer Westside- Anderson claimed the 4A State Title.
The Rams got the go ahead score on a TD catch from NC State commit Tank Boston with less than 30 seconds left, to edge South Florence 34-32. The win snaps South Florence's win streak of over 25 straight games. It's the 2nd State Title in program history for Westside and their 1st in over 50 years.
Daniel clipped Camden 49-48 after stopping the Bulldogs on a 2 point try in overtime. It's the third State Title in four years for the "Daniel Dynasty".
There was no doubt or drama in 1A as Christ Church repeated as State Champs. The Cavs dismantled Johnsonville 67-21.
The State Finals were held on campus at South Carolina State in Orangeburg this year, as opposed to the traditional home of the Finals, Columbia.
