The Atlanta Falcons are going to have some big decisions to make in this offseason. After going 4-12, they sit with the fourth overall pick in the upcoming draft. This is one of those picks that could make or break a franchise.

Depending on how the first few picks play out, the Falcons may have their choice of who they want to pick in a quarterback-heavy draft. With Matt Ryan getting older, some would say that it is time to draft his successor. But if you think Ryan can get it done, there is the possibility of trading down and accumulating draft picks.

Eric Edholm, of Yahoo! Sports, joined The Jon Chuckery Show to talk about the dichotomy between staying pat and trying to find a partner to trade down with.

“It is going to be interesting to see what they do,” Edholm said.

It all depends on who the Falcons hire as their general manager. If that person believes he can add to the roster around Ryan, that is what he will do. If he is all in for a rebuild then there has to be a strong consideration to draft a quarterback for the future.
