
Clemson's defense led the way as the homestanding Tigers edged Wake Forest over the weekend. The Tigers allowed just one touchdown and held Wake to under 250 total yards of offense in their 17-12 win at Death Valley, Saturday.
The Clemson offense had some of their own struggles they gained less than 350 total yards. The Tigers trailed 3-0 after a slow start in the 1st. They led 7-3 at the half after a Cade Klubnik TD run that capped a 75 yard drive of over 7 minutes. The two teams traded field goals in the 3rd and Clemson led 10-6 after three.
The Tigers took a 17-6 lead with a Will Shipley TD run with 5:49 left to play. Wake scored on a TD run with 1:35 left to go. However, Clemson stopped them on a two point try and recovered an onside kick attempt.
The offense picked up a couple of 1st downs and salted the clock away. Clemson is now 4-2 overall and 2-2 in ACC play. They have a bye this week and are back in action October 21st at Miami.
