His family says Spartanburg High School quarterback Raheim Jeter is facing surgery for a gunshot wound suffered during a weekend "road rage incident."
Jeter's mother says her son, a junior who's committed playing football at West Virginia University, will undergo an operation later this week to remove the bullet from his leg. Jeter led Spartanburg High to an appearance in the 5A Upper State Finals in 2021. He's rated as a 3-star prospect by 24/7 Sports. Jeter holds offers from Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky and Missouri among others.
Spartanburg County Sheriff's Deputies confirmed they're investigating a shooting reported about 9:30 Friday night in Boiling Springs, but have not released any details.
