An Upstate native and Clemson baseball standout heard his name called in the Major League Baseball draft, Sunday night. Riverside High Product Caden Grice was taken 64th overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Grice was the 1st Tiger to be named the John Olerud Two-Way National Player Of The Year, last month. This past season he was 8-1 with a 3.35 ERA and opponents hit just .196 against him, on the hill.
At the plate, Grice hit over .300 with 18 home runs, nearly 70 RBI's and an on-base percentage of over .400. Grice was also named an All-American this season. He becomes the highest draft pick for the Clemson program since 2007.
