An Upstate native had a solid showing over the weekend but was unable to qualify for this year's Olympics. Greenville high and University of Arkansas Alumnus Sandi Morris finished 4th in the Pole Vault at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Oregon.

Morris is a Puma sponsored athlete and she had a 4.68. That was just behind the trio who all qualified for the Olympics tying at 4.73.

Morris had qualified for the previous two Olympic games. She took Silver in Brazil in 2016. Morris had a pole break during her attempt in the Tokyo games.

Morris has won multiple World Championships and medaled at the Pan-Am Games earlier in her career. She was inducted into the Greenville County School District Hall Of Fame in 2021.
