The Washington Football Team has added another possible candidate to its list of possible general managers: JoJo Wooden, director of player personnel for the Chargers, according to Ian Rapoport.
Wooden has been with the Chargers since 2013 and oversees the team's pro and college scouting departments. Prior to his time with the Bolts, he spent 16 seasons with the NY Jets in their front office.
He joined the Jets in 1996 as a pro personnel assistant and gradually worked his way up to assistant director of player personnel, a role he held for his final six seasons with the club, prior to joining the Chargers.
Wooden joins the list of candidates that Washington will interview for the vacant role at GM which includes Nick Polk, the Falcons director of football operations, Martin Mayhew, the 49ers vice president of player personnel, and Ryan Cowden, the Titans vice president of player personnel.
As the list of potential options at general manager continues to grow, it is unclear what future Kyle Smith, Washington's current vice president of player personnel, has in Ashburn, or if he is also in the running for the job.
