Dante Scarnecchia coached in the NFL a long time -- 36 seasons in fact, 34 coming with the Patriots.

So, what is the legendary offensive line coach up to in retirement?

Scarnecchia appeared on the Pats from the Past podcast to discuss that, as well as a number of other things.

“I am enjoying retirement and our days are very full," he said. "We have grandkids that live with us half the time and we’re doing a lot of virtual school work with them. There’s a lot going on in our lives relative to all that. We’ve been busy.”

The 72-year-old joked what he's doing now is harder than coaching his players.

“I think the new math is a lot tougher than coaching those blocking schemes," Scarnecchia said. "There’s been many a times where I’ve had to go on the YouTube tutorials on how to add, subtract and divide fractions. That’s kind of something I left in my earlier days. It’s been a process and I’ve enjoyed every second of it.”
