Braves place Spencer Strider on 15-day IL
While the Atlanta Braves remain the best team in baseball, recent injuries to Ronald Acuna Jr., who was placed on the 10-day injured list with a hamstring injury, and Spencer Strider, who left Friday’s loss to the Mets in the third inning with right arm soreness and later placed on the 15-day injured list, concerns in regards to whether or not, the Braves should make trades to bolster roster have risen.
“It’s brutal, you feel for [Spencer] Strider because he wears his heart on his sleeve,” 92-9 The Game’s Mike Bell said of Strider as he and cohost, Carl Dukes discussed Atlanta’s recent injury news, which was followed on Monday with reports Strider would be shut down for approximately four weeks, with anticipation of his return not coming until late August to early September.
“We know you can’t trade for anyone because anybody who has anything that’s worth trading for has all the leverage and they’re going to ride that out, but I’m just saying, whatever the Braves should be doing to explore and start talking to people, yes I think Alex [Anthopoulos] is doing that,” Bell said as he explained why he believes Atlanta’s President, Baseball Operations and General Manager is likely already working to address starting rotation.Spencer Strider reportedly to be shut down for four weeks
