The Atlanta Hawks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 108-97 in a rare afternoon game on Monday as the NBA celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
For Hawks head coach Lloyd Pierce, MLK Day games are a special event within the league and especially in the City of Atlanta and he expressed that sentiment when speaking with John and Hugh on Wednesday morning.
"There are two cities that should always host the MLK Day games, us and Memphis," says Coach Lloyd Pierce referring to Atlanta. "You realize how special it is to coach on that day, how significant that day is in our country, especially as an African American man.
"To get a win feels right, almost like it should be a guarantee. We had a great time, a little bit of a conversation, a special day and a special moment."
