A Deputy Coroner in one Upstate county has been suspended after being accused of fraudulent activity by a fire department he once led.
The Cherokee County Coroner's Office says, Joshua Parker has been suspended without pay.
The move comes after Parker was accused of fraud by the Buffalo Fire District. Parker had previously served as Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department.
SLED is investigating the report of potential fraud. Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said that none of the allegations involved the Coroner's Office.
