Actress Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor called in to chat with The Big Tigger Morning Show all about her new movie Origin, in theaters now.

Written and directed by Ava DuVernay, the film was adapted from the book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson.
"The book is a work of historical journalism, that speaks to the moment that we're in." While the book features no central character, and features "lots of people," as Aunjanue explained. "What Ava does… she uses Isabel Wilkerson as the central character, because she find out what was happening in her life as she was about to adapt this book. And Ava thought that she was a compelling character so she made her the central focus of the film."
Telling her story as she grapples with tremendous personal tragedy, writer Isabel Wilkerson, played by Aunjanue sets herself on a path of global investigation and discovery. Also starring Jon Bernthal, Vera Farmiga, Audra McDonald, Niecy Nash-Betts, Nick Offerman, and Blair Underwood.
