What's preventing Kirby Smart from replacing Carson Beck?

Carson Beck threw for three interceptions in Georgia's 34-20 win over Florida on Saturday. The performance marked his second-straight game with that total and it is the 11th interception he has thrown in his last five games. If this trend continues, what is stopping Kirby Smart from making a change under center?

The Steakhouse discussed the troubling trend from Beck on Monday morning.

"Simply put, you cannot rely on your quarterback to play winning football if you continue to give the ball away," Drew Butler said about the play of Beck. "He's the first SEC quarterback in the last 20-plus years to throw three interceptions in consecutive games and win them both. Simply put, he's a liability."

After being a preseason favorite to hoist the Heisman Trophy, Beck's play has rapidly deteriorated to the point where his team wins games despite of him rather than because of him. Even still, the head coach has backed his starting quarterback.

"There have been plenty of opportunities for Kirby to make a change," Abe Gordon said. "I think it's pretty clear that he's not going to make a change -- unless there's a change in the record and you stop winning those games."

But can the Dawgs afford to wait until that moment comes?

Coming up next on the schedule are two top-rated opponents with a road trip to No. 16 Ole Miss followed by a visit from No. 7 Tennessee. Both of these games figure to be tight contests where turnovers could be a death sentence.

"If you turn the ball over to an offense that's explosive, you could find yourself in a 21- or 28-point hole in a matter of minutes," Butler finished.
