Depsite his absence from the Atlanta Falcons' minicamp, Kyle Pitts has been in headlines throughout the week as reports of teams reaching out to Atlanta in regards to inquire about a potential trade for the tight end, who is heading into his fifth season, and speculations that his 'undisclosed injury' is reportedly a foot injury.
And while there has been no clarity from the Falcons being open to trading Pitts, CBS NFL Analyst and two-time Super Bowl champion Bryant McFadden, joined 92-9's Carl Dukes and Mike Bell and shared why he believes if teams are truly reaching out to the Falcons in regards to Pitts, they would have to seriously consider any offers made, especially if the compensation in return is right.
"If you're getting a nice pick in return, I think you have to entertain that," McFadden said when asked to share his thoughts on the Falcons being open to trading Pitts prior to the start of the season or allowing the former fourth overall pick to prove himself valuable this season, however noting should Pitts produce in a manner as he did his rookie season, he could command a decent payday.
"Let's say hypothetically speaking he puts it together this year and for whatever reason things start to fall in his favor, you know what kind of contract he's going to ask for. So if you're Atlanta, if you're not willing to pay him upper echelon tight end money and you have other teams thinking about a pretty good pick in return, I think you have to entertain that," McFadden told Dukes Boys.
