Tuesday was a good day for Atlanta Braves ace Max Fried, who was named the club's Opening Day starter. However, it was a rough day for other Braves' starter, Ian Anderson.
Anderson got rocked on the mound in Atlanta's 10-7 loss to the Red Sox. After allowing a leadoff walk, Anderson surrendered a two run home run to the following batter. He would strike out the next two batters before giving up a double and two consecutive walks. Ian exited the game before finishing the first inning.
Should Braves' fans be worried about Anderson heading into the season?
"I don't think you should be totally un-concerned," Joe told Andy and Randy. "Just coming off of last year where he had injury issues."
"Obviously, it's not been encouraging the way he made his start the other day, but I think long term, I don't think people should be worried."
Anderson has allowed nine hits, six runs and two home runs in only five innings pitched in his spring training stint.
"I have no concerns about him long term, but you always want to see your pitchers performing well at this point in spring training when you're about to head into the season."
"We've hardly seen these guys throw before the games are actually going to start counting, so we'll see. I wouldn't be super, super concerned about him at this stage."
