The 'big chill' will be on overnight Wednesday into early Thursday. The 'big freeze' may be more accurate.
A Freeze Warning has been posted by the National Weather Service for most of the Buffalo and Western New York region, with Frost Advisories posted for Niagara and Orleans counties.
"Even outlying areas in Buffalo and Rochester will see widespread frost as temps drop into the lower 30s," say the NWS forecasters. "Only the nearest few miles within Lake Erie and Lake Ontario will see temperatures remain in the mid to upper 30s with just patchy frost."
Temperatures will rebound for the remainder of the week.

* WHAT...Widespread frost with sub-freezing temperatures in the lower 30s expected, including in outlying areas of Buffalo and Rochester. Temperatures near the Lake Erie and Lake Ontario shores will be in the middle 30s with patchy frost.
* WHERE...Monroe, Wayne, Northern Cayuga, Northern Erie, and Genesee counties.
* WHEN...From 11 PM this evening to 8 AM EDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
