NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A trio of rallies are taking place across the U.S. and Canada Friday outside the Qatari embassies in Washington and Ottawa, and the Qatari consulate in midtown Manhattan, calling for the Gulf state to apply pressure on Hamas to release the remaining 100+ Israeli hostages in Gaza.

"We must continue to strongly encourage Qatar to apply maximum pressue on Hamas," reads a press release for the gatherings, as the four-month mark of Hamas' Oct. 7 terror attack in southern Israel approaches.
"Join us for a peaceful gathering ... to help ensure our voices are still being heard and our hostages are not forgotten," the release continues. "New York City is home to the nation's largest Jewish community, as such we are uniquely positioned to stress the absolute need for Qatar to prioritize the release of American and Israeli hostages."
The rallies are focused on Qatar since it has been involved with hostage negotiations and it has direct contact with Hamas.
"Qatar provides funding to Hamas and offers refuge to its leadership," reads the release, citing reports. "Qatar has helped to successfully mediate the release of more than 100 hostages, but this is not enough. Qatar must use its enormous leverage over Hamas and demand the immediate release of over 130 remaining hostages who have been in captivity for more than 100 days."
"We want them home now."
