Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The first preseason game is in the books for the Buffalo Bills, and there are some questions remaining on the roster ahead of Saturday's second preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.
While there maybe weren't too many people questioning the backup quarterback position to start training camp, Matt Barkley has thrown a wrench into the discussion with his 14-of-15 passing, 172 yards and two-touchdown performance Saturday against the Indianapolis Colts at Highmark Stadium.
It was Kyle Allen starting Buffalo's preseason opener against the Colts, but he was rather pedestrian by going 8-of-15 for 122 yards and interception.

Although it may seem Barkley has taken a slight edge over Allen following Saturday's preseason opener, offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey still feels there is a competition for the backup quarterback job behind starter Josh Allen.
"I know that Matt's numbers are what they were, and he did a great job, but at the end of the day, both of them graded out very similar," said Dorsey on Wednesday when speaking with the media before practice.
Heading into the final two games of the preseason, Dorsey feels the biggest thing he needs to see from both quarterbacks is some consistency with decision making.
"I think those are big things for quarterbacks, obviously being on time, accurate with good decisions," Dorsey said. "We preach, 'If you guys make good decisions, everything else takes care of itself.'"
Barkley has been in the Bills' system in two different stints, while Allen was signed as a free agent this offseason to replace Case Keenum on the roster. Dorsey has been sure to keep in constant communication with Barkley to make sure Allen gets more comfortable in the system.
"You want to make sure when it's a competition between two guys, you're giving both guys an opportunity. But there's a little bit of a juggling act there, in terms of making sure we're seeing exactly what Kyle can do, because he is new to us," Dorsey said
