Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) – With just two preseason games left before the 2023-24 regular season opens on Oct. 12, the Buffalo Sabres announced additional roster cuts on Wednesday with three players bound for the Rochester Americans.
The Sabres have assigned two former first-round picks, Jiri Kulich and Isak Rosen, to the Amerks, while forward Brett Murray has been placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Rochester.
Kulich played a total of 62 games in his first professional season in North America last year for Rochester, scoring 24 goals and 46 points.
The 2022-23 season was also Rosen's first professional season in North America, where he played 66 games, scoring 14 goals and 37 points.
Murray, on the other hand, has played 20 games for the Sabres over the last three seasons, scoring two goals and four assists for six points. In four seasons with the Amerks, Murray has produced 56 goals and 125 points in 205 games played.
The Sabres will take on the Blue Jackets on Wednesday night at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, before roundig out the preseason on Friday against Pittsburgh Penguins at KeyBank Center in Downtown Buffalo.
