DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for suspects at large after a child was sexually assaulted during a home invasion on the east side.
According to police, three men broke into a house on Beaconsfield Street, near Outer Drive, just after 3:30 a.m. Friday.
One of the suspects, police said, pointed a gun at a 12-year-old boy and sexually assaulted him.
Police said the men went through the home searching for money and a cell phone. Other residents in the home, a 32-year-old woman and 65-year-old woman, were not physically harmed.
One of the suspects fired a single shot as they left the home, police said, driving away in a black SUV. All three suspects, described only as black males, remained on the loose as of noon on Friday.
As the investigation continues, anyone with information should call Detroit police at 313-267-4600.
