(WWJ) Two people are in custody after a blaze in a house on Detroit's west side was cleared by firefighters who discovered three charred bodies inside.
Charlie Langton reports police are handling it as a homicide.
Arson is suspected as the cause of a house fire in the 19000 Block of Helen Street, near 7 Mile in Detroit. Blackened exterior walls and a motorcycle on the front lawn are all that remain of the now-shell of a residence.
Langton reported the "substantial fire" was reported at 12:17 a.m. Thursday and once firefighters knocked the flames down, and got inside, they found three bodies, burned beyond recognition.
"The burns were so bad that firefighters couldn't tell the gender of the victims," Langton said.
A neighbor told Langton one of the men who lived in the house belonged to a motorcycle club. Firefighters and police have not yet released information on the cause of the blaze, motive for the deaths or whether the victims were killed by the fire or if it was a means to destroy evidence of a killing.
A neighbor told FOX 2 the neighborhood was experiencing a normal quiet day ... before the explosive sound erupted of a house on fire.
"He was sitting here earlier today eating lunch. We were having cheese sandwiches," said a neighbor. "I come home, I get up and was like 'damn what was that big bang' I get up and look outside and the house is on fire."
