DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are looking for a 16-year-old girl who allegedly caused a deadly crash in a stolen SUV, then ran away from scene as her friends struggled with injuries
The crash happened around 11:15 p.m. Saturday along East McNichols Road near Gunston Street on the city's east side. Police say the teen driver lost control of a stolen 2002 Chevy Tahoe and struck a tree.
A 13-year-old girl identified in reports as DaMaura Perkins was ejected from the vehicle and killed.
Several other teenage girls in the car were also injured; their injuries are non-life threatening.
Other circumstances surrounding the crash weren't immediately clear.
Police are still investigating and have not released many details, including where the vehicle was stolen from.
